Go bang with Zookoda

Since I got into paid blogging, I’ve been thinking of a way on how to promote my blog. What is the easiest way to let other people know that I have a new post? Until recently, a friend told me about Zookoda. At first, I was reluctant because it sounds catchy. I guess I was used to having getting something with a price tag or strings attached. After sometime, I thought I should give this one a try. Why not? Before diving into something unfamiliar with me, I did some research to know what I was getting into.

So what is Zookoda? Let us zoom in our window views and look closely at this new marketing application named Zookoda. Interestingly for bloggers, it is specifically designed for them. So how does it work? First of all, it shouldn’t scare off newbies by letting them know that it’s for free. Yes, it’s free. In fact, it’s one of the most enticing features of Zookoda.

Another feature of Zookoda is that it enables bloggers to send a daily, weekly or monthly summary of their latest blog posts directly into their visitor’s inbox. How cool that can be. It is a free promotion of your posts.

There are a lot to Zookoda than its catchy name. Among other things, a blogger can manage their email newsletter subscribers. It also helps bloggers to enhance their blog(s) with custom newsletter subscription forms.

Bloggers can also do some designing with some eye-catching newsletters to match their blog design. Apart from it, Zookoda helps bloggers get organize by scheduling recurring broadcasts for each day, week or month. Also, they can view real-time open, bounce, click and unsubscribe reports. What’s more is that bloggers can access mobile users by emailing blog content in text format.

So why wait now? Create an account with Zookoda. Help yourselves bloggers!

Guerdon

Guerdon is the winning word for the new spelling bee champ. The 13-year old Indian boy from West Lafayette, Ind. aced the national bee equipped with so much determination to win. His sister was an inspiration to him. He had watched her sister try three times to win the national bee and it has been his goal then to join and win the contest but he wanted to aim higher. He wanted to soar with flying colors just by doing it only once. So did he ever achieve his goal? Oh yes and as if by the heaven had heard his prayers, the word that made him to the top was "guerdon". This word means "something that one has earned or gained". Truly the spelling bee champ slot was a guerdon by Sameer.

He also became the first speller to win the title after misspelling "sudation" in the preliminary round. But I guess it was his purpose and willpower that managed him to remain in the competition and of course on the strength of a high score in the written test.

Now this is the power of having a fortitude attitude. Just stay positive and never give up on your goal and everything will go your way!

Black Friday shopping

May is almost over and when June comes in it would mean that we’re already halfway through 2008. But even before 2008 ends, of course there is the most-awaited month for most people and that is December! Why December? It is because the most joyous and festive time of the year where endless parties and reunions happen.

It is also a time for gift-giving and you know how busy and crowded the malls are. Choosing and buying a gift is not that easy especially at this time of the year because the long lines at the cashier and the needle-in-the-haystack malls will definitely give you a headache and sore feet.

So what do I do to escape from this madness? Ever since, online shopping was invented it gave a whole new relief and perspective to shoppers. I look at the items that are sale online and see if it suits the person and of course if it fits my budget. One of the convenient online shopping I am talking about is the Black Friday website or the Blitz day or the day after the Thanksgiving sale which is being sponsored by or advertised in PayPerPost. Th black friday ads are one way of ensuring that you spend less time worrying about how to plan and purchase your shopping needs. black friday ads are a great help to shoppers by eliminating the hassle of having to queue at their favorite stores. By registering, one gets to have email alerts that lets one know what have been posted which makes it easier for people to know what products and store have put on sale. Again, even if this is a sponsored post, I believe that black friday ads will make your lives more easier and better.

The long and winding road

Seems like a song from the '80s. But the phrase meant much more. You cruise up and down the road on a night like there is no other thing in the world that matters. A time when you try to fill in the void of silence by looking at each other's eyes that made one thing led to another. You try to listen to the music of the night and appreciate the almost perfect sight that soothes your desire. You warm your bodies with those gentle caress and sweet whispers to fulfill and go beyond each other’s fantasies while the cold humming of the air balances it all. Oh yes the long and winding road will never cease to amaze me with its scenery and memories that it will always bring upon me.

Death Note live in action!

TV Cartoons have evolved from Classic to Anime. My husband and my husband’s niece enjoy very much this type of cartoons that has been aired in TV. One anime cartoon that I know they love is entitled the DeathNote which I heard will soon make its way to theaters US wide for two days only. Avid fans will have a chance to see it in the big screen on May 20 and 21st at 7:30pm. Unknown

Now for parents who want to know what this DeathNote is all about, it is based on the hit supernatural action-mystery manga. It tells the story of Light Yagami, an ace student who finds the DeathNote, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death God named Ryuk. Light recognized the power that the notebook has. Any name written in the notebook dies. Upon knowing this, Light has made it his goal to use its power to get rid of the evil forces in the world.
Whenever I watch something of this kind, a thought always pops in my head. If I am going to have a supernatural power, I’d like to have a mind-reading power so I can anticipate things and never be caught unprepared or off-guard.

Going back to DeathNote, I understand that it is an exclusive event that will have a special 20-minute presentation on how the popular manga translates to live action. It will also feature one of my favorite band’s hit theme song “Dani California” by none other than - the Red Hot Chili Peppers!
You can buy your tickets by going to the DeathNote site and entering your zip code in the search feature. Just a piece of advise, get your tickets early because slots are limited!

Cafe Juanita

I only enjoy eating when I am preggy. Eventhough I don't like to eat, I have to because this tiny creature inside me would always give me a nudge. I am past my first trimester which should make me eat anything I see or smell but I guess I am still not over this craving thing. Anyway, I thought I would share to you guys that this resto somewhere in Pasig would satisfy whatever gastronomic yearning you have for. The place is called Cafe Juanita. At first glance, the place would seem a carinderia outside but it has a lovely ambiance once you get inside. Almost everything you see there is for sale which are unique and antique. And of course, the main reason why I am recommending this place because of its food. Even if I am not preggy, I would love to go and eat there. Their dishes are distinctively cooked with affordable prices.

Be smart, go for edu links!

Here I am trying to increase traffic to my blog site and hopefully get a Page Rank but to no avail. I’ve tried all the works that my friend told me to do and I’ve also researched on how else I can improve my Page Rank. I would stop and take a look at every chance that I can get with any articles that suggests improvement. So they say ‘Content is King’ that is why I am trying to master the skill of being straightforward, informative and at the same time creative so that my posts will be as detailed, catchy, sensible and of course interesting.

Other than having the “Content-is-King” mantra, another option to earn a rank for anyone involve in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is to build incoming links. However, it is not that easy. It is the trickiest and most time consuming but it is the single most important thing one can do to improve their rankings. Why? The answer is I guess very logical and self-explanatory: The more inbound links a page has, the more well-liked or accepted the site is.

With this in mind, one will try to get as more link as possible. Nonetheless, one should also keep the thought that while it is true that a link will add value to your site, it is still wiser to get links that come from authoritative pages. Now, did I finally get your attention? Well, I am talking about edu links.

Why edu links? There are numerous reasons for endorsing this link. For one, it is a fact that Google and Yahoo pay high respect for both edu links and .gov links than .com, .net and others. Obviously, there are far less .edu and .gov websites which makes it harder for one to get a link. Also, it has been there for 10 years, has gained the trust of many, and has been well established which makes it more credible with its thousands of incoming links.

Another thing is that undoubtedly it is an authoritative link. As I read in one article and I quote, “SEO experts go through an enormous amount of trouble to luck upon just one link from an EDU domain”.

Based alone on what I’ve listed down, I think it will be to your advantage if you choose edu links which by the way you can get as many links as you want without having to sweat it out.

The Nephilim

Nephilim. I thought this was just some word invented in the tv mini-series "Fallen" but when I googled it up I found a lot of sites describing the word. After getting a rest from "Damages", I was just toying with other movie titles hoping that it would satisfy my craving for another mind-boggling series.

Then I was introduced to "Fallen". This is different from the tv series that I've been enjoying every night. First and foremost it is just a three-part series which would mean that I will be again scouting for movies after only a night. Oh yes, I can finish one season in just one night. Another thing is that this series presents alternative religion which tells about the battle between opposing celestial forces.

Nephilim, as most articles would describe, were a pre-flood race which are referred to in the Bible as giants. They were half humans and half Gods. It is most important to note that they are mentioned almost simultaneous to God's statement that He would destroy the earth by flood, and it seems from this association that their affect upon mankind was one of the primary justifications that brought the destruction.

Fallen has brought some interesting details and will surely capture everyone's attention with their almost factual storyline and effects.

Where have all the advertisers gone?

Where else can you find the best site in placing your ads than the internet? The internet has invaded the world of marketing and advertising. Millions of people are more and more into online viewing, shopping and buying. While it is just a click away, fact remains that the internet has been a big help in our day-to-day lives.

The past few years have held a whirlwind of hype surrounding social community network where bloggers get to earn. This has also been a good news to advertisers because they get to hire people for a very minimum fee and enjoy a vast of write-ups, posts and links which already becomes free advertising.

Now SocialSpark.com has created more room for advertisers to market their services and products. I entice more advertisers to sign up and join by simply typing SocialSpark.com in your IE bar. This is not only a community where you can place your ads but also a chance to build and strengthen your network.

I noticed that since I started here in SocialSpark, I rarely see advertisers on gadgets and electronic products. I think many bloggers are also waiting for this kind of opportunity. I hope to see more of you in my homepage as I continue to provide write-ups and reviews for you.

Leaving Without a Trace

Without a Trace is a fast-paced drama about an FBI division that is in charge of missing persons. I just bought a complete series of Season 5. I am already into episode 3 entitled "Damage Done". Agent Malone, the head of the FBI team, had an encounter with Sadik, the leader of a mafia, in the previous episodes of Season 4. Ín this episode, Sadik's girlfriend (Julia) and son (Petros) was abducted. In the course of finding Sadik's son, Agent Malone was trying to shoot two birds with one stone - find Petros and nail Sadik to jail.
When Petros was born, he has brought joy to Sadik. The only thing that matters to Sadik is Petros. However, Sadik's way of upbringing Petros was through bloodmoney. With this, Julia knew it was not the right environment for Petros. One day, she got the couraged to leave Sadik. She packed a gun for protection but ironically it was the same gun that killed Petros. An accident which led to the staging of the abduction.
When Agent Malone delivered the news to Sadik, his tears wiped away the toughness in him. The angst and attitude was brought down by his emotion....his sadness.......the feeling of being lost...the emptiness that has covered him.
When we were young, I often hear them say that boys don't cry. There was even an 80s song about it. Men are taught to be tough...to put on a straight/poker face in situations where the world crumbles at their feet. Hard as it may be, they try to fight back the tears and act like a brave soldier. But I've known some people...in their solitude find ways to bring a tear drop from their eyes. I've seen them shed a tear....saw the fear in their eyes.....felt the sadness....the void.....the dread of losing someone...someday...and I say even big boys cry.

Props to your own Dockers-style!

What is the difference between just style and Dockers's style? Oh big! Style as defined by Mr. Webster is “conformity to a recognized standard; manner which is deemed elegant and appropriate, especially in social demeanor; fashion. So when you put Dockers before the word style, it gives a whole new meaning to it. It gives a glittery and a more glamorized yet classical concept and beauty.

Now there is a chance for you to revive that old artistic and creative side of you by joining the Dockers contest. Just type or copy and paste this link www.nbc.com/Dockers. This opportunity may win you a slot in the Jay Leno commercial airtime. You can visit this link: Dockers. Your may use any ideas that you may get when you visit the mentioned link.

American Idol down to three!

So Jason Castro is finally out. American Idol's finalists are left with Syesha and the two David's - Archuletta and Cook. I bet the two David's will vie for the seat. Although David Archuletta has obviously flocks of fans, my bet is David Cook. I find him bold and daring and he has proved himself that the risks he took were worth our while. I just hope that Cook will remain to choose the right song till the end of the fight because it will definitely make him head and shoulders above the two other finalists and eventually be this season’s American Idol!

Dockers - a Quintessential style!

75x75

The catwalk and the spotlight are two most remarkable points where endless debates and polls on our "favorite/most hated dresses" only proves that fashion icons are in high demand.
Each and every one of us has our own icon that we look up to when it comes to fashion. Classic as it is, I must admit that Audrey Hepburn is an admirable woman of her time. She set a trend and became an inspiration to many. She had established herself as one of the most admired and emulated women of the century. Even up to now, people look up to her. As one article aptly puts it : “With an innate knowledge of her flaws and attributes, Hepburn developed a unique style which perfectly complimented her personality and remained loyal to it throughout the seasons. Over the years she would be responsible for bringing the little black dress, ballet flats, toreador pants and the black turtleneck to the forefront of fashion; all items of such simplicity that they still seem modern today.”
The truth of the matter is, just as style is a very personal and individual choice, so are our favorite fashion mavens. An icon to me is simply an inspiration. Someone I admire that I might seek to emulate elements of her style but not totally all of it. I know what might work for others might not be good for me. My attitude when it comes to having my own style has always been geared to simplicity because it is the most unique and classic fashion that I know will always look good on me. By being simple, you are able to carry all the confidence that you can muster. After all your style is your own... but it never hurts to have a helping hand when it comes to new ideas.

Having said all of it, I encourage you readers to parade your own style by designing your own commercial video so you can join the Dockers contest (www.nbc.com/Dockers). Your video can be aired in the Jay Leno show during its commercial break if your video wins the contest. Of course the video must feature Dockers and focus on your own fashion trend and style equipped with the latest Docker items of your choice. Intrigued and interested? Visit the Dockers to get some ideas and if you are inching your way to becoming a commercial guru then hit the link and miss no element by clicking http://www.nbc.com/Dockers.You may also try visiting this link Dockers to view the different dockers style.

The offspring

Adam, Eve and the forbidden apple
A sweet and agonizing surrender to the serpent.
A breakout of epochs
To an open clash between good and evil.
I build my own fortress
Humming a melodic harmony of mind and soul.
Like an equinox two hearts united as one
A journey to a road that leads to eternity.
A solitude I found within
Embracing the solace of his undying love.
A pseudo-haven I live in
Then heaven and hell collided, in the midst a stranger found me.
Lo and behold!A raven I saw
Leading the stranger and me to a world of illusion and temptations.
Indulging only covertly to a portal that never exist
Crossing the borderlines holding us captives of this lifetime.
Charmed in this magical moment
Sigh again and conjure to a battlecry.
A poetic unjustice to the known prisoners
Deprived and bound by time and chance.
Confused with Hamlet's 'to be or not to be'
Guilt stricken of passion, enduring the tragedy
Sentenced by medieval rules written in quill and paper
Cast us away with your stones and pierce us with thorns.

Frontier is a sure bet for the nightmare awards!

Yesterday, I just finished a post about the Frontier(s) and while my friend and I were crossing the street heading to the parking lot, we came around the topic. I mentioned that after watching the Frontier(s) trailer, I got excited about the movie and hope that I can get a copy of the DVD. She then replied that she doesn’t like horror movies and that the pictures that she saw were gruesome. I guess the trailer was effective that it really got my friend scared the wits out of her.

For some people, they can’t stand to watch horror movies because it gives them nightmare and this vivid and uncanny imagination that gives them a hair-raising moment. But not me! I love watching horror or thriller movies especially this upcoming movie that I’ve just recently blogged and posted here. I got so curious about this unrated, uncut and controversial movie. Unparalleled by its cinematography and storyline, the negative publicity and controversy that toppled on them did not stop them from hitting the theaters. This is not just some movie that was created just for the sake of making money but the producers and the scriptwriter made sure that they put some meat in the movie (no pun intended!).

Although, I read the synopsis in the trailer which by the way you can view at http://www.frontiersunrated.com, reviews and plot summary of Frontier(s), I am still excited with the release of the movie. I am sure that the trailer will give the viewer some gripping instant that will make them curious, horror-struck and will leave them some interesting and strange thoughts.

Unknown The plot revolves around the survival of the lead character Yasmine who was caught up in the middle of a deadly political riot in France. Seeking refuge from his ex-boyfriend tagging along two thug friends, they thought they find shelter and security at an inn run by a neo-Nazi family practicing some evil cult. Amidst the insurgence outside their world and the mental torture that they are facing inside the inn, they must keep their sanity intact and run for their lives. By just reading the summary and rewriting it makes me wonder how the story was filmed. If you find yourself in this kind of dilemma, try looking at the Frontier(s) site.

For interested viewers like me, you can catch the movie Frontier(s) at the select theater listings in the http://www.frontiersunrated.com. There are ten states which the movie will be shown so you can check out the nearest theaters in your area. To my friends who are residing in New York and L.A., you can catch them at the Village East Cinema and The Bridge Cinema, respectively. Enjoy and be horrified! Click the Frontier(s) site and enter the dreadful world of Frontier(s).

Ever after with you

Whenever I feel weary from the seemingly endless crossroads in my life, I try to veer away from the hustle and bustle of the day. I dwell on the times where I can set aside the turmoil of my mind. I play along with the rewind of the cherished days. Even if the pleasure it brings is only ephemeral, it somehow gives me a piece of mind. Hard as I try, I cannot deny that I have to live by with the changes that suddenly fell upon me. I've always known then that whatever I've started would bring me to the middle of nowhere and yet I still pursued the journey relentlessly. Through it all, I was caught up with the 'ever after line' your-pulse-is-my-only-racing-guide-in-the-dark.

It is now my chance to return the favor. I don't believe in many things but you so I'd rather quit the fight to give way to your most desired path. I will stand back to clear your horizon because I want you to soar above and feel what it's like to be free. I hope I can see the glimmer in your eyes and blissful smile in your lips before the bells on the hill rings.
Now that I am on my own, I'd always hang on to the thought of you being there with me...to your words that will always soothe the deafening silence of my wandering. Those words have left me by with strokes that I need for my wheels to keep me from moving on.
I'll always remember how you made me strong and I'll always thank GOD for that. Albeit, i'll never ever know the truth behind everything that happened, there will always be a moment when i'll be alone with my thoughts under the starry sky looking up and wishing that my lucky star would show up. And when it does, i'll wish and dream that there will be an ever after with you.

Your own Traveling Pants!

Have you seen the movie the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants? It is a novel written by Ann Brashares brought to life through a movie. She said that she has always liked the idea that clothing can hold emotions and memories or connections to other people, so it wasn’t a stretch to imagine a pair of jeans could be a physical repository for a living friendship.

Yes, it was indeed a pair of jeans that has connected the four friends even though they were physically apart. This is the kind of story that you can create to join the Dockers contest.

My Ironman

My Hon and Marge were the one who introduced me to the Avengers. My hubby, a frustrated comic collector, and my eldest daughter, who resembles little me, spends their bonding time by watching cartoons and playing PSP. I have little knowledge when it comes to Marvel's superheroes so I rely on my husband's preference when a superhero movie is up about coming.

So last Saturday after my appointment at the dentist, we went to the nearest cinema to catch the Ironman. Since I am not sure if it will capture my whole attention throughout the entire movie, I bought cheese popcorn and a cola so I can do some nibbling just in case I yawn. Anyway, we walked inside the theater and took the middle seats and watched the trailer as we wait for the start of the movie.

Beforehand, I knew that one of the cast is Robert Downey, Jr. who is one of my favorite actor. Aside from his good looks, he is definitely one of the best actors of his times. I never thought that he would be playing Tony Stark - the Ironman. For the sake of those who haven't watched the movie yet, I would not talk about the plot so as not to give some spoilers. Although, I must admit that the popcorn has become a bonus because the movie caught my attention the whole time it was being shown. The storyline and the effects were superb. Eventhough at the beginning of the movie I already felt that I had to pee, I waited till the end to do it. I wouldn't want to miss a scene.

I've seen Downey's movies but it is all drama-comedy and I haven't seen him do something like this. I must say that he justified his character as a superhero. His acting was like lifted from the comic which it made it more realistic and excellent. Okay plus the fact that even in his ruggish look, angst and dubiuos smile he still maintains his ravishing and dashing personality.

Eerie and tormenting...only in Frontier(s)!

Since I was young I have been watching scary movies. I remember then when most kids my age would be glued to the screen watching cartoons, I would rather shift the channel and look for horror movies. Even now when I go and buy DVDs, no horror or suspense movies or TV series would escape my sight.
I’ve seen so many horror movies and it seems like that there is an ongoing trend. The classic horror would include western dominated horror movies. Then came the Asian horror movies which for a time prevailed the cinemas. Now, some French horror movie is making its way into some selected theatres to scare the hell out of the viewers. I am talking about Xavier Gens’ FRONTIER(S). I have seen the trailer in their official website at the http://www.frontiersunrated.com. I must say that the trailer alone gives the chill. Some scenes and pictures seem so surreal that it gives me the creeps. The trailer will prepare you to the bone-chilling synopsis down to some of its tormenting clips and pictures. It will also show you the select theater listings and a forum where you can leave some messages and comments regarding the movie. This movie has become phenomenal that it did not get solid releases in the United States because of its extreme sadistic gore and its violence.
As I’ve mentioned Frontier(s) will only be shown in selected theaters for a week starting May 9 in its entirety and uncut version. For those who will miss the play date, don’t worry because it will find its way to DVD on May 13.
I am not quite sure why this movie cannot be seen in its entirety when it would mean that it would cut some scenes; lose interesting parts of the story which in turn would lessen the value of the movie. If you would take a look at the reviews in Frontier(s) and watch the trailer, you would know what I mean. The trailer alone speaks for itself which gives me something to look forward more with the movie. I agree with one of the reviews when it says “Frontier(s)….is heart pounding, uber-violent, and yet thought provoking horror-thriller……Quite simply, Frontier is a circus freak show of terror; a horrible nightmare…..There is a not a single wasted moment of screen time as the film nears perfection and will be remembered forever as one of the greatest genre films of all time…..It is like a constant drop on the roller coaster, the thrill never ends.”
The sadistic gore and violence is part and parcel of the movie which I think should be shown. I am not promoting it because I love violence but I think because there is more to violence than the whole story put together. If you want to see more or hear more about the movie, you may want to visit Frontier(s)
