Turn-on scents for men

I read somewhere in an article that there are perfumes or scents that turns on men. A survey they conducted showed that clean scents, woody and floral and spicy florals are the best turn-on scents for men.

Pure White Linen of the Estee Lauder fragrance, J’adore of Christian Dior’s, Lancome’s Miracle, Dolce & Gabana’s Light and Blue and Elle Yves saint Laurent falls under the clean scent. These perfumes are claimed to have a natural and fresh smell just like a woman who just got out of the shower. Makes men feel they want to scurry up into bed and clutter the sheets.

While some women would not prefer to buy perfumes that are musky, spicy or woody, they might have to think otherwise. The notes on the label maybe masculine but those multilayered scents will smell great on them. The likes of Victoria’s Secret’s Very Sexy perfume, Christian Lacroix Rouge, Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession or Tom Ford’s Black Orchid.

Sophisticated scents such as Chane;’s Chance and Daisy Marc Jacobs falls under the spicy floral scents. Look for those signature scent that will make you feel like a star or a millionaire..something that is infused with the combination of vanilla and white woods – sweet and spicy that is!

Talk Perfume to women and I'm sure that there are numerous of perfumes to choose from but always remember that what's important is wear something that makes you feel like a woman.

I am a slumdog millionaire

Note to my one and only avid reader...you know who you are...would like you to read this post with the soundtrack playing on....for a more melodramatic effect... :)

Tried to watched this movie before but ended up yawning at the first few scenes so I shut down the lap top and tried to catch my precious sleep. The title wasn't at all catchy so I never got interested in continuing where I left off until I heard feedbacks that it was indeed a good movie. So last night, since I was wide awake and still up i thought of giving it another shot.

The movie didn't fail me this time. The setting was in India and it was all about Jamal winning the game show "Who wants to be a Millionaire?" and the story behind how he knew the answers to the questions. I wouldn't go to the details of the story so as not to be a spoiler for those who haven't watched it yet. I just want to share how I am a slumdog millionaire on my own rights.

I guess I share the same sentiment of Jamal when it comes to Latika. No, I have not joined and won any gameshow but I felt like I am a millionaire since I knew my own Latika. Just like Jamal's Latika, she is Jamal's universe..a person which has been lost but have never been forgotten...not for a moment. Just like Jamal, Latika was the last person that brought her luck in his one last step from winning the game. Even though he won the game, he was never completely happy because the one person that can make him happy is yet to be found.

I hope one day I can find my Latika in the midst of the crowd and never let go. Like Jamal, I will be waiting at our own train station...our universe, everyday until he shows up. I have always said "it is as clear as mud" but the slumdog millionaire changed it when he said..."it is our destiny...it is written".

"You Are My Waking Dream, You’ re All Thats Real To Me
You Are The Magic In The World I See
You Are In The Prayer I Saying, You Are In My Two My Names
You Are The Faith That Make Me Belive
Dreams On Fire, Higher N Higher
Pasion Burning, Ride On The Path, Once For Forever Yours
In Me, All Your Heart, Dreams On Fire, Higher N Higher

You Are My Ocean Rage, You Are My Thought Each Day
You Are The Laughter From Childhood Games
You Are Things Further Down, You Are Where I Belong
You Are Make Me Feel In Every Songs
Dreams On Fire, Higher N Higher, Pasion Burning

Heroin Detox

Whenever I drive to work, I always tune in to my favorite radio station just to make traffic worthwhile. They always have a segment wherein they say the topic for the day and callers nationwide share their stories on that related topic. This morning their topic was on "secrets". A 16-year old girl called and shared that stole 30 grand from her parents. The DJs asked the girl where did she spend the money that she stole. The girl replied that she used it on drugs. And from the sound of her voice, she thinks she was totally being cool. Two of the DJs felt almost responsible to give guidance to the obviously messed-up girl.

Personally, I feel sorry for the caller because she was telling stories how at an early age her life sucks! This is why there are some institutions, centers and other agencies that help people who are depressed and into drugs such as the "Promises Treatment Centers". They provide rehabilitation and heroin detox to alcoholics and drug users. So if you know someone related to you or close to you, you might want to check out their site. They are sure to be in good hands.

A call to MCF

Yesterday I went to the Register of Deeds in Marikina City to fix the Transfer Certificate Title that is under my name. I went there early so I can do some of my errands. Typical of a government, they had me waiting for almost 3 hours only to tell me that there was no examiner. I was so pissed off. For any cool-level-headed person, I think it would be a test of patience. Really! I am surprised that there are still some government agencies in Marikina that gives a crap to such bureaucracy. I guess this is why our country is still status quo...not even moving forward to a "developing country" category. I just wonder 5 or 10 years from now what and how things would work out for the Filipino citizens. I am so disappointed in what I thought a hassle-free day for me. It was harder and complicated than I thought. I guess this is me knocking on Mayor Marides Fernando's door chanelling my complaint to what it seem to be a non-bureaucratic city government of Marikina. Some things never change.

Holodomor or Golodomor?

The etymology of holodomor is from the Ukranian word "holod" and "mor" which when literally translated are ‘hunger’ and ‘plague’. This possibly stemmed from the expression moryty holodom or in the english language ‘to inflict death by hunger’. The perfect form of the verb "moryty" is "zamoryty" which means " to kill or drive to death by hunger, exhausting work".

One may find as they google up the word "holodomor" is a reference to a famine in Ukraine during the year 1932-1933. Millions of people starved to death because of Soviet policies at those times. It is considered as one of the greatest national catastrophes to affect the Ukrainian nation in modern history where estimates on the total number of victims range mostly from 2.2 to 10 million inhabitants of Ukraine died of starvation in an unprecedented peacetime catastrophe.

holodomor had been a subject of scholarly debate and the famine remains a politically-charged topic where some scholars have argued that the Soviet policies that have caused it may have been designed as an attempt to silence the peasants against the attack on the rise of Ukrainian nationalism.

And just last March 2008, holodomor was recognized as an act of genocide by the Soviet government. This has been concluded by the parliament of Ukraine and many governments of other countries. The recognition was a long-time overdue outcome of the joint declaration at the United Nations in 2003 which has defined the famine as the result of cruel actions and policies of the totalitarian regime that caused the deaths of millions of Ukrainians, Russians, Kazakhs and other nationalities in the USSR.

And on 23 October 2008, a new development has come to documentation which was through an adoption of a resolution by the European Parliament which states that holodomor was a crime against humanity.

High school again

I am still cramming for my daughter's 7th and 2nd birthday party celebration. Lucky me I have friends to help me out in these stressful times.

Earlier today, I was with my high school friend who took time out to scout Tutuban Mall for some party favors, prizes, lootbags and giveaways. Whenever I go to Divisoria, I am always amazed at how cheap things can get especially when you get them wholesale. Just last week, I was surfing the internet to get some idea on what kind of souvenirs, game prizes and how much it would cost me. I was already tempted to negotiate with a party planner so I can do away with the headache stuff of thinking what and where to buy cheap and yet of quality kiddie toys.

There were so many things to choose from but because of the constraint budget and time, I thought of buying on a one-stop deal. My friend and I finally saw a one-stop store named "Toys 4 U" right across Tutuban Mall just right in front of what they call Cluster Mall. I got prizes for as low as P8 per item for wholesale.

After we've bought everything, I felt satisfied with what I was holding because I knew I already got a good deal. My friend shared the same sentiment when I said I was cramming for the party for she too always had to cram on things like that. I then remember my high school days when it was only half an hour away before our "Noli Me Tangere" exam. I guess that was the biggest cramming of my high school life because I was browsing the whole book hence the whole story. Up to now I can't believe that I even got a high grade on that exam. It worked for me then and I guess cramming would always be an inherent part of me. Some things just never change like my friendship with my high school friends who through the years have become solid. We have witnessed almost everyone's lives, shared those girl-to-woman secrets and have bonded with our children. Whenever they're around me, I always feel like a high school girl...even today. I felt like a high school girl who literally didn't feel the heat of the sun or the tiredness from walking when I see my crush. I remember the Alay Lakad sa Luneta and the lunch at SM Centerpoint Fastfood. The walk from UST to Luneta then back to UST was really tiring but I enjoyed it because I was with him. Eventhough he wasn't that nice I was blinded by my secret admiration for him. Now, I couldn't be happier. I just really feel again a high school girl filled with energy and radiant smile just seeing him walk across the street. Just being with him on those stolen moments makes my day complete. I guess there's nothing like a high school day...
