Finding her rainbow's end

Today she bows before him while the curtain is being pulled down. She tried to shake off her frustrations and disappointments that she kept to herself. But she still can't seem to put it into words. It was lame of her just to sit still and watch the others do their own thing while she listens and bear the pain of what he had to say. Perhaps she says there is no way of giving sense to a closed mind. She just shrugs off her shoulder and let the moment drift away. And so the curtains fell down...Maybe this is another chapter of the story of her life for had they been of her, no doubt they would have continued with her. But the previous days that passed by, the weather seemed hazier and gloomier than ever. His part in her story is over and she just have to cut the strings short. Just like what Serge said..."A twist of fate and then a spot of gold out on the rainbow's end."

There is only one person who can raise the dead and she has got to know when its dead...when its over. It has been quite a struggle and she somehow believes that whatever GOD means for her, he'll give it to her and if it takes too much sweat, she doesn't need it. If she holds on to that thing that doesn't belong and was never intended to her, she has to loosen her grip and let go.

With this in mind, she then turns around and speaks no more. It has been a tiring day and a vicious cycle for her. Her anguish cannot be heard for no one can understand and no one will ever listen. She will try to take it one day at a time. She will try to perform another theatrical act for her audience. She may close her eyes to the things she doesn't want to see, her ears to the things she doesn't want to hear but she can't close her heart to the things she doesn't want to feel.

In so doing, she hopes she can erase whatever it is that she will leave behind and eventually welcome tomorrow with open arms and open heart. This she knows that someday she will find her own rainbow's end.

Friday Magic Madness

Its TGIF! For working people, it is the most awaited day of the week. Why? Because there are many things that can happen on a Friday night. It is simply the most relaxing and fun-filled night. Most night-outs, parties, out-of-town happenings are held on a Friday. What is even more great is that I spiral back to the '80s every Friday everytime I tune in to Magic 89.9 where non-stop and good music of the '80s keep on playing.

I guess it has always been my favorite genre and era of my life. Like right now, I am listening to Lanca Perfume song. I've always liked it and it makes me feel at ease and bubbly whenever I hear that song and so are the other 80's songs. It brings me to a trance, it uplifts my mood and warps me to a different dimension. It's what they call the Friday magic madness!

Sulpicio's Titanic

Typhoon Frank like any other super typhoons has left the Philippines a mark that some if not most of us will remember. The tragic accident has been the latest in the list of Sulpicio Line's maritime incidents.

Last night while I was watching the late night news, I sympathize with the relatives who have been agonizing over the long wait on any update about their loved ones. I cannot help but feel pity at the babies or kids that have been perished in this ill-fated incident. The negligence of one party has caused the lives of hundreds of people. While listening to the bantering and bickering of those people, I cannot help but wonder what if I was in their position. I guess I would have a breakdown then because I cannot imagine that dreadful day happening to me or to anyone of my loved ones.

Updates on the rescue mission has been reported that there are at least hundred of trapped passengers that are floating inside the ship. One Phil. Navy officer even commented that their team is exasperated not because of how difficult to get the cadavers but because they are frustrated of finding and saving alive passengers.

Dirt Devil - your handyman!

It isn’t easy being a working mom. You wear too many hats and you have to know how to prioritize and balance your life. One of the most important tasks that you have to perform in your everyday life is how to be the greatest mom. Being a mom means you sometimes have to think out of the box in order to provide everything and the best for your children. From the day that your child is born, the ultimate goal of every parent is to keep them safe, happy, nourished, healthy and to be able to provide them a comfortable, amicable and clean environment.

As a parent, one of your immediate concerns is how to keep your home clean. You have to be spic and span. Especially if you have babies in your house, you have a tendency to be obsessive compulsive or OC just to make sure that your place is dust- and germ-free. You will need all the help and advises you can get in order to fulfill this duty. Cleaning the house usually takes up your time while you have to bear in mind that you have other household chores to do. Getting a maid is one option but sometimes it doesn’t guarantee you that they are thorough in cleaning everything. One option also is to outsource people who will clean your house but it will mean big cost for you. So what is the best way to work around it? Try the first cordless vacuum that earned Energy Star approval. Isn’t that great? Now you have something to rely on without spending too much on your energy consumption because it uses 70% less energy. They named it the Dirt Devil Accucharge which truly lives up to its name. Of course there were other vacuum cleaners that came even before Dirt Devil was created however, its product features and design simply outshines them all. The Dirt Devil Accucharge is a rechargeable handheld vacuum cleaner with cordless easy-to-maneuver design. The Dirt Devil Accucharge technology also provides longer battery life, faster charging, and increased efficiency. You’ll have no problem using it because it only measures approximately 14 by 4 by 5 inches and together with its retractable bristle strip and on-board quick-flip crevice tool, you’ll find it easier to use. Again I would recommend that you try the Dirt Devil Accucharge because more than saving the energy consumption, what’s important too is that it is great for dry spills and everyday messes.

Rock a bye baby

How can someone be so cruel? With all the crazy things that are happening around me, this one I cannot really take. Admittedly, I felt a bit down when I knew that I am on the way again but now that I can feel her inside my womb the feeling is still like it’s my first baby. I still get thrilled and happy whenever the baby seems to communicate from inside of me.
Just this morning, I was greeted with this sad and frustrating news that some teenage mother threw out her own baby out of a moving taxicab window. Newspapers reported that the incident happened around 4pm at the corner of Pedro Gil and Onyx Streets in Paco, Manila. Luckily some residents saw the babies and they brought the poor baby to the nearest lying-in clinic which is reportedly to be generally okay with some minor bruises in the body.
I can barely recover from the recent incident last Tuesday that a newborn baby was thrown out a condominium unit in Binondo, Manila. Somehow I think these people are possessed to have enough strength and be heartless enough to throw away their babies just like that. Whenever I see a baby, I have this instant reaction to be gentle towards my actions and I am filled with a sweet and tender loving care attitude. Babies are angels. When I held my babies in my arms and put them into sleep, I always stare at their faces, hugs them tight and I give them my super duper sweet kiss. It gets me teary-eyed. I pray for the souls of the unwanted babies and I pray that their mothers be enlightened with what they have done.

Clean up while you save up!

Having kids at the house almost always makes every corner literally and figuratively filled with something to fix or clean especially when you have a toddler. And being a working mom gives you only ample time to clean up and fix the mess that your babies have spilled everywhere. No matter what you say and how you teach your child to be neat and clean, to fix their toys after they have played, to clean up their mess after their meals or to be aware of not spilling water outside the shower area, it doesn’t seem to stick in their heads. At the end of the day, you still have to clean up their mess.

As someone who does the budgeting, I try to make sure that I get to conserve a lot especially on energy which takes up a large share of the pie of our household expenses. I have learned a lot from my mom how to be thoroughly clean and yet easy on the pocket. When it comes to cleaning, I do it the conventional way but the problem is it takes me almost a day to make sure that every inch of our house is clean. I realized though that even if I have spent less on my energy bill without consuming electricity, I also get less quality time with my kids. This is a dilemma because I have to do something to make it more balanced. To make my life less complicated, I tried the Dirt Devil. 5238dd240x180publicThe Dirt Devil doesn’t only help me clean the mess and suck away the dust but it also helps me save. How? The effectiveness and efficiency of the new AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac help me save money by using 70% less consumption on energy. Further, AccuCharge is the first cordless cleaning technology to earn Energy Star approval. This Energy Star is a real deal to us consumers and users. So don’t try to pull your head off thinking on ways how to budget your time and money. Clean up while you save up with Dirt Devil .

PDA...the dream lives on!

If there is one singing contest here in the Philippines that I have enjoyed watching that is the Pinoy Dream Academy. For me, it is always the audition phase that showcases the best part of the season. This is where the mentors and viewers get to see all the aspiring and crazy participants from all over the country. I guess the amusing part there is watching some participants who advertently auditions and who have a strong fighting spirit even though they have no real talent in singing. Now when these people try to step up on the stage and believe that by joining in the contest will change the course of their lives makes it real fun by turning the contest into some kind of circus.

Unlike any other singing contests, it just doesn’t provide you a show with the mere singing entertainment. It also gives you a glimpse shot of their personalities as they are housed in one roof. Today’s season has boarded in 16 contestants together with Teacher Monet as their in-house mentor. The other dream mentors composed of Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, the new Headmaster replacing Season 1’s headmaster Jim Paredes; Teacher Kitchie, the voice mentor; and Joey Reyes who is in charge of the personality development.
At this early stage, I have seen the disparity of these 16 contestants as opposed to another singing contest of the other network. It is definitely a no match when it comes to the talents that ABS-CBN has been producing and showcasing. Needless to say, the overall package of the talents has been thoroughly conceptualized which is why ABS-CBN has continuously delivered a better show.

Natsumi - the beautiful summer

Whenever I hear something about anime or Japanese Manga movies, the first thing that comes to my mind is my hubby and his niece. They are both avid fans of anime. I am sure that they will be excited when they hear about Bleach : Memories of Nobody which is going to be shown in the big screen for only two nights. Oh yes, NCM Fathom and Viz Media have decided to present the movie on June 11th and 12th at 7:30 pm on selected movie theaters nationwide which is dubbed in English.

Of course, the names of the characters are in Nihonggo so I try to figure out what their character name means. For example, the lead character in the movie Bleach would mean “the First Guardian” or “He who protects”. I find it interesting making a Japanese name on my own based on its meaning. If ever I am going to make a script, I would name the led character Natsumi which means a beautiful summer. I thought the name sounds nice and the meaning is appropriate with the life I want to envision.

Just to give you a brief background, the Bleach : Memories of Nobody is a 2006 animated film adaptation which is about Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki who deals with the unidentifiable spirits that began popping up which are known as “Blanks”. They were lost in space between Soul Society and the real world, known as the Valley of Screams, and have been stripped of their memories. They were able to meet Senna who is a mysterious soul reaper who wipes out most of the strange souls. The excitement continues when a mysterious group appears which were called the “Dark Ones. They set their sights on Senna because they want to get revenge on Soul Society by causing a chain reaction that will collapse the entire dimension of the Soul Society and the real world.

The story itself is interesting and I know that it will be captured in the upcoming movie for anime fans. Don’t miss this exhilarating manga movie because seats are limited so hurry up and get your tickets by purchasing advance tickets which are already available online at www.fathomevents.com.

Julianne and Michael

I have watched the comedy-love story movie for like a hundredth time and every time I watch it I still can't help but cry during my favorite scenes. Although there is a never a dull moment in the movie, I really find it endearing when Julianne and Michael were in a city cruise trying to have their last time together alone. I feel for Julianne and I feel every part of the pain that she feels during that moment. I don't know why but whenever I hear their lines and the background music ..."Someday"... starts playing, my eyes instantly becomes misty no matter how much I try to hold them back. I feel a stabbing pain and the scene just hits me right through the bone.

I also like the ending part where Julianne gave her speech at the wedding. She let the couple use their best-friend signature song "The way you look tonight" as a gift to the couple while they were trying to figure out what their theme song is. I also liked her line where she said "I had the strangest dream. I dreamt that some psychopath was trying to break the two of you up. Luckily, I woke up and I see that the world is just as it should be. For my best friend has won the best woman.". I don't think I'll never get over this movie for as long as I live.

Serendipity and peculiarity

USA Network's new original series In Plain Sight is another crime-drama expected to be making a big hit on the tv screen. The TV-series stars Mary McCormack as Mary Shannon who plays a U.S. Marshal affiliated to the highly secretive Federal Witness Protection Program (WITSEC). Mary’s work is based in the greater Albuquerque/Santa Fe, New Mexico area. Her job is to protect and relocate Federal witnesses who roll out from all over the country. These witnesses come from different sides of the law and the only thing in common is that someone wants them dead.

This TV-series does not only feature a great story but also real-life characters with peculiar persona. While I was having a rundown of the different characters in www.usanetwork.com, I remember my sister in the character of Brandi Shannon played by Nichole Hiltz. I thought her character is very much alive in my sister. My favorite youngest sister lives in the moment. She is the type who never cares much about education and tends to fall to the worst possible men. She likes to earn a living already and buy whatever she desires without having to go through a formal education. Sometimes her peculiar situation and ambitions gives way to serendipity.

If you have missed its series premiere which started last June 1, you may catch it online at www.usanetwork.com. Happy viewing to all!

Always on your side

During my college days, which by the way was not so long ago, my 6 units in Philo had a big impact in the way I view things. We had this one project where we wrote our own future. I guess somehow it guided us to what we want to be, where we want to be headed five to ten years from then on. It wasn't that hard for me because then I knew what I really wanted. I wanted to get married and have a happy family. I wanted to be a lawyer. I wanted to work in an embassy or a research company. I wanted to be a diplomat. Some worked out, some didn't.
We also had the chance to write our own eulogy. We planned our own death. What age we will die, how we will die and to whom we shall leave our final words. May seemed morbid at that time but hey it was some wake-up call for most of us. We left letters and tapes of our own "goodbyes" to our beloved ones, wrote their names and sealed the envelopes. But no one really knows how things end up.
Being a lawyer or a diplomat in an embassy or a reasearch company, the eulogy, letters and tapes of yesterdays...they're all boxed up and neatly put away. But every now and then it comes to mind. Just like every dream that is within reach...
As Crow and Sting would put it...Everything was sweet and innocent then but my demons and angels reappeared. Leavin' all the traces of the dream I thought I'd have. Leavin' me with no place left to go from here. Leavin' me so many questions all these years.

Is there someplace far away, someplace where all is clear? Easy to start over with the ones you hold so dear. Or are you left to wonder, all alone, eternally. This isn't how it's really meant to be.

Well they say that love is in the air, but never is it clear. How to pull it close and make it stay. If butterflies are free to fly, why do they fly away? Leavin' me to carry on and wonder why. Was it you that kept me wondering through this life...when you know that I am always on your side.

The bridge

When you reach the point of no return, you get stuck with the "and" of yin-yang, "or" of yes-no, the "gray" of black-white. You feel it coming and you feel ok. How could something so wrong feel so right? Oh, your guts would then tell you, he may fly away. We're so happy. Don't you cry. I'm gonna catch us a lullaby.

Go and stand at the end of the bridge. Close your eyes and feel the gentle breeze that caresses your face. Hear the whistle of the wind as it hums through your ears. Raise your arms and let no fear embrace you. I'm really careful that I hurt no one. Who really matters? So farewell your heart. And this is all. I found no one. It matters not.
